Covelle Newcomb

American author. He mainly wrote stories for young people about real life people and events. One of his books was a western type horse book about a young boy crossing Mexico on horseback. Not sure if that one is based on real life or not.

Fairly easy to find in America, especially the paperback edition. No British printings and quite hard to find here and elsewhere other than the USA.
